As part of Disney Cruise Lines 12 night British Isles cruise arriving from Dover 5 June the 294m long Disney Magic will be visiting the Port of Tyne on Tuesday 7 June.

Although the ship is not open for visitors it will be possible to catch a glimpse of the Disney Magic at popular viewing points on the river.

During both visits on Tuesday 7th June and Sunday 19th June the estimated arrival time is 6.30am off the piers at Tynemouth and the estimated departure at the piers will be 5.45pm - though spectators are reminded that times are estimated and may be subject to change.

Nolan Gray, Port of Tyne Business Development Director, said: "The Port of Tyne has worked extremely hard to attract visiting cruise lines to our award winning International Passenger Terminal in North Shields.

"We are delighted to be one of only two ports in England that Disney Cruise Lines have chosen to include in their itinerary. This year we have a record 42 cruise calls, half of which will see passengers disembark to explore North East England's world-class tourist sites.

"North East England has the regional infrastructure to grow UK departures from the Port of Tyne, and iconic tourist attractions to increase the number of visiting cruise calls. Next year will be another record year for our cruise terminal and over 50 vessels are already booked including Disney Magic - which I'm very pleased to say is returning next July."

During their time in Port the 2,700 or so cruise passengers on Disney Magic will explore the UNESCO world heritage sites of Durham Cathedral and Castle, Hadrian's Roman Wall, Alnwick Castle and Garden and other attractions across the region.

Members of the public are advised that the ship will not be open for visitors and the Port of Tyne has created a helpful map which can be downloaded via the Port's website which provides suggested viewing points and the ship's estimated arrival and departure times.

Any changes in the ship's arrival can be tracked from the Port of Tyne website expected shipping link at
