Michael Chaplin

Walking the walk as well as talking the talk


Writer-in -Residence, Michael Chaplin put his best foot forward and took on a new challenge, trekking nearly 40 miles to walk from South Shields Pier to Wylam, crossing the river and finishing at Tynemouth Pier.

The walk which Michel expected to take ten days started on Tuesday 12 July and included stops at points of interest along the way, covering roughly 4 miles a day.
