Matt Beeton
Having held director positions at Rolls Royce, Bombardier, Serco plc, Northern Rail and National Express Matt has over 20 years experience within the road, rail and aerospace industries. His early career began with a graduate programme at Rolls Royce Aerospace. Matt joined the Port in 2019 with extensive experience in transforming business strategy, driving efficiency through smart technology and inspiring leadership - including increasing customer satisfaction and safety performance.

Frans Calje
In the last eleven years, Frans has been instrumental in the successful strategic transformation of Teesport’s container platform, which has led to consistent positive growth in container volumes through the acquisition of new business; affirming PD Ports’ position as a lead player in UK portcentric logistics.

Raoul Tan
Works within the Port of Rotterdam International department responsible for digital developments and actively connecting Port Authorities and Communities to the experience and digital services developed by 100+ experts of the Digital Business Solutions department of Port of Rotterdam.

Helen Baker
Helen is a Managing Director at Accenture’s Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) in Newcastle. In her 14 years with Accenture Helen has been involved in a number of large scale delivery projects all based at the ATC campus in Newcastle. Helen is also the innovation lead for the ATC working collaboratively with clients to identify business problems and develop innovative technology based solutions that deliver business value. Helen is passionate about the north east and is proud of the work Accenture does locally to develop new talent through its apprentice and graduate schemes as well as dedicated outreach and engagement programmes. Helen has two young children who keep her very busy outside of work

Raoul Tan
Works within the Port of Rotterdam International department responsible for digital developments and actively connecting Port Authorities and Communities to the experience and digital services developed by 100+ experts of the Digital Business Solutions department of Port of Rotterdam.

Tom White
As Innovation Architect at the Connected Places Catapult based in the new Leeds Nexus office, Tom is responsible for strategic development and oversight, shaping potential projects and collaborations across a broad range of areas at the Catapult. Whilst currently leading on developing the support initiatives for the maritime industry throughout the UK, Tom is also leading on engagement and support for the Northern area, working with stakeholders across the region.Tom has a background in materials science and manufacturing, digital and autonomous systems, and business innovation across the engineering, nuclear and maritime sectors in multinational commercial and defence organisations.

Dr. Jo North
Dr. Jo North who has recently joined the Port's Leadership Team as the Interim Transformation Director working with us on our Tyne 2050 strategy, facilitating the growth of the Innovation Hub and organisational development.Jo has worked with businesses in a variety of different industries—from accountancy to retailing, publishing and transport—to help them to innovate and grow. Jo’s passions include: her French Bulldog, Paddy; Spain, Spanish language and tapas; mixed media art and creative writing.
