Clearly Drinks

Clearly Drinks is a leading specialist contract bottler. Soft drinks have been manufactured and bottled at its Sunderland site – with its own spring water supply – for over 100 years. Their own brands include Perfectly Clear flavoured waters, Northumbria Spring and 1870 Mixers.

THE CHALLENGE: Clearly Drinks has three bottling lines – two for plastic bottles, one for glass. These produce a million bottles every week, including their own products and customers’ brands. High volumes must be delivered quickly and efficiently to destinations all over the UK.

THE SOLUTION: The Port of Tyne’s distribution fleet delivers Clearly Drinks’ products to supermarkets and wholesale suppliers throughout the country, from Cornwall to Scotland. The Port also handles Clearly Drinks’ growing export volumes, including its blackcurrant-flavoured ‘Towt’, which is highly popular in Saudi Arabia.

THE OUTCOME: Within a few months of working with the Port of Tyne, Clearly Drinks saw major improvements. CBL’s on-time delivery success rates rose to 98%, from the previous 70% success rate.
