Case Study

PWS Distributors

PWS is a market leader in the design and supply of quality kitchen components and work surfaces to manufacturers, retailers and installers. A fifth-generation family business, PWS continues to invest and expand at its Newton Aycliffe site.

THE CHALLENGE: PWS manufactures worktops at its own plant and distributes components which are imported from Europe and the Far East. It processes about 700 orders every day - half of which go out the same day. It has about 12,000 products in its range and is the largest distributor of kitchen doors in the UK.

THE SOLUTION: PWS has been a Port of Tyne customer since 2005. Its pallet distibution, through our own vehicles, is handled by two Port of Tyne employees who are based at the company's site to manage booking and loading of products.

THE OUTCOME: The Port of Tyne handles about 2,300 pallets a month for PWS. Faster and more reliable delivery has made it easier for customers to do business with PWS, a company which is very service oriented.
