Notice to Mariners No 8 of 2024 - Beaching of Craft
Beaching of Craft within Port Limits
The Port of Tyne will not permit deliberate beaching of craft within its area of jurisdiction, other than in cases of an emergency where there is an imminent risk to life or property.
Potential problems from beaching include:
- Potential Damage
- Pollution
- Trespass
All vessels should report any problems to VTS immediately and endeavour to reach a safe berth under their own steam or request assistance as soon as possible.
All vessels should monitor “Tyne VTS” on VHF Channel 12 at all times.
