EXPLORE THE WORLD WITH FRED. OLSEN CRUISE LINES

Fred. Olen launched their 2020/21 cruise itineraries at the Port of Tyne.

Fred. Olen launched their 2020/21 cruise itineraries at the Port of Tyne today (6 March) – welcoming around 200 guests on-board their cruise ship Boudicca.

Guests from travel agencies around the North East and Scotland along with regional journalists and other partners were welcomed on-board Boudicca to sample Fred. Olsen’s unique experience and hear about the exciting destinations available on a cruise with Fred. Olsen.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is excited to announce that, in 2020/21, its fleet of five smaller, more intimately-sized ocean and river ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch, plus river cruise addition, Brabant – will be visiting no fewer than 277 destinations in 90 countries, across six continents, covering 104 areas of scenic cruising, on 170 different itineraries.

The Port of Tyne is one of only five UK departure ports that Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines sail from - amongst the sailings from the Port of Tyne is Balmoral’s ‘In Search of the Northern Lights in Eight Nights’ sailings, from Newcastle in March 2021 – with a new range of itineraries providing the ideal introduction to cruise for new guests…and even more so if they get to witness the awe-inspiring Aurora Borealis!

Justin Stanton, Sales and Marketing Director of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“We are delighted to have been named ‘Best for Itineraries’ by the independent experts at Cruise Critic in their ‘UK Editors’ Picks Awards 2018’, for a record fourth year in a row, as well as ‘Best for Shore Excursions’. These prestigious accolades recognise the hard work, dedication and extensive research of all the teams involved in hand-crafting these latest Fred. Olsen ocean and river itineraries.

“In 2020/21, guests will find a mix of sailings from the UK to destinations across the globe, as well as a new programme of European river cruises, taking them far and wide, and affording unforgettable experiences, both on board and ashore.

“Our upgraded fleet – together with our award-winning itineraries and legendary customer service – will ensure that we continue to stand out from the crowd, offering unrivalled cruise holidays and taking guests closer to the destination!”

‘Closer’ cruising remains at the fore of the Fred. Olsen experience throughout 2020/21. By making the most of its smaller-sized ships, Fred. Olsen can sail right into the heart of the destination, where many larger vessels cannot reach.

Fred. Olsen will also be operating more of its ‘Five-Night’ cruises. These provide the perfect opportunity for a short break, or the chance to try Fred. Olsen for the first time, offering the full ‘Fred. Olsen experience’ of destination exploration, ‘closer’ scenic cruising, and friendlier on-board service.
