GOLD STANDARD FOR PORT OF TYNE
Port of Tyne in North East England has retained its Gold Investors in People standard, putting the Port within the top 2% of IIP accredited organisations.
Following a rigorous assessment programme the Port of Tyne in North East England has retained its Gold Investors in People standard (IIP), putting the Port within the top 2% of IIP accredited organisations.
This excellent result is thanks to a huge team effort by a team of IIP internal advisors and everyone at the Port for their commitment to a programme of continuous improvement.
Louise Tinker Port of Tyne, HR Director, said: “This is the first time we have been assessed by Investors in People against its new set of standards, so we are thrilled to have received Gold and to be recognised for our commitment to continuously improving our people. We are dedicated to making the Port a great place to work and to building on our IIP success.”
Chris Jones, Director of Operations for Investors in People, said: “It’s a great accomplishment – one that will help attract new talent, clients and contracts – and improve employee engagement and motivation within the business.”
The assessment process many employees said how much they enjoyed their jobs for reasons including variety, intrinsic interest and pride in being part of the Port, working to benefit the region.
The Port will hold the Gold standard until 2020 and continue to follow the principals of Investors in People as part of the business plan, helping to shape the future of the Port.
