Komatsu Awards Port of Tyne Top Supplier Award

Port of Tyne is delighted to have been awarded Indirect Supplier of the Year by long-standing customer, Komatsu, at the Komatsu annual supplier day on 23rd September 2021.

The award is testament to the hard work of the team and the Port of Tyne’s commitment to the partnership and collaboration with customers.

Richard Newton, Commercial Director, accepted the award on behalf of the Port of Tyne and said:

“I am delighted to receive the award for Indirect Supplier of the year on behalf of the Port of Tyne. Port of Tyne have supplied logistics solutions to Komatsu for over 10 years years. 

Over that period we have worked together to find solutions to safely unload, store and handle some of the large component parts. It’s also very pleasing that all of Komatsu’s globally sourced parts are shipped into South Shields with the goods delivered on the Port’s own vehicles. 

We look forward to working with Komatsu as they take up the occupancy of warehouse 20 to further support their significant future growth plans. It’s been a real team effort that demonstrates our long-standing partnership and collaboration.”
