CHINESE BUSINESS LEADERS VISIT PORT OF TYNE01 Aug 2016

Officials from the Chinese province of Guangxi Zhuang visited the Port of Tyne (Friday 29 July) to develop international trade links.

The visit included 21 executive directors and business leaders from South Central China.

During their three week visit to Newcastle the delegates will be visiting Newcastle University and a number of regional manufacturing businesses, with the prime objective of exploring strategies for connecting land and sea trade routes.

Steven Harrison, Port of Tyne Chief Operating Officer, said:

"We were pleased to welcome the delegation.  They were interested to learn more about the Port of Tyne's infrastructure developments and access to world-wide markets".

During their tour the visitors took the opportunity to tour the Port's Tyne Dock Estate and visited the recently completed Riverside Quay extension and its car terminals.
