Flexibility and a can do attitude form the baseline for our cargo handling solutions. The Port of Tyne’s stevedores have the expertise, infrastructure and machinery to handle the whole range of cargoes, from containers and roll on roll off to wood pellet, steel or large pieces of offshore equipment.
Some ports specialise in specific cargoes. The Port of Tyne specialises in handling whatever the customer brings. Our deepwater quays are equipped with seven heavy lift cranes, two gantry cranes, grabs, hoppers, loading shovels, excavators, dust control equipment, weighers and conveyor belts.
We also operate a very wide range of handling equipment – forklift trucks up to 35 tonnes, mafis and trailers up to 60 tonnes load capacity. In the hands of our highly experienced workforce, this allows us to provide the ideal solution for every cargo.
