Deep water, lock-free and with no air draft restrictions. The Port of Tyne provides an easily accessed safe haven, 365 days a year, with 3km of berths within 30 minutes’ steaming from the North Sea.
Easily accessed and with the space and depth for vessels up to panamax class, the Port of Tyne provides the ideal, cost-effective, flexible solution to numerous shipping rotations.
Our river channel is maintained to a depth of 10m, while our berths provide up to 13m water depth alongside. We pride ourselves in our ‘open all hours’ approach – with no air draft restrictions to Port of Tyne facilities, no significant beam restrictions, no locks, and pilotage available around the clock.
Once alongside, vessels can easily gain access to fresh water and bunkering facilities as well as other services such as fenders and gangways.
