The Port of Tyne has many years’ experience handling heavy lift and project cargo. Our deep water berths, RoRo ramps, covered and open storage, a rail terminal and a wide range of gantry and slewing cranes, plus a good dose of our flexible 'can do' attitude, mean we’re well equipped to take care of your project cargo and heavy lift requirements.

Port of Tyne provides a lock-free safe haven, operational 365 days a year, with dedicated open storage, warehousing and fabrication areas in close proximity to the quayside. Our expert stevedores and operational staff are experienced in handling a wide variety of cargo from one-off projects to multiple shipments. We have a wide ranging fleet of mechanical load-carrying equipment, including fork lift trucks of up to 32t SWL, reach stackers of up to 44t SWL and terminal trailers of up to 60t SWL.

The Port of Tyne’s close proximity to the major road networks -- including the A1, A19 and A66 -- and 3 rail terminals close to the quayside, provide unrivalled connectivity.
