Notice to Mariners No 22 of 2024 - Temporary light on South Pier Lighthouse.

Temporary light fitted to the South Pier Lighthouse.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a temporary all-round red light with the characteristics of Fl(3)R 10s 13m 9M has been fitted to the South Pier Lighthouse. This is expected to be in place for a number of months while the damage done to the structure is repaired.
Both piers will remain closed to the public until further notice due to extensive structural damage.
Mariners are required to navigate with caution when manoeuvring within this area.
All vessels should monitor “Tyne VTS” on VHF Channel 12 at all times.
