Notice to Mariners No 17 of 2024 - Diving Operations
THIRD PARTY DIVING OPERATIONS
This notice is directed to diving operations taking place at or from berths and land not operated by or within the estate of the Port of Tyne.
Notice is hereby given, that all diving operations taking place within the Statutory Harbour Authority (SHA) Limits of the Port of Tyne Authority must gain prior acknowledgement from Tyne VTS.
Any organisation or individual planning to dive within SHA waters, should complete the ‘Diving Request Form’ available on the Port of Tyne Website and submit to Tyne VTS. No diving should take place prior to VTS acknowledging the intent to dive.
The Diving Request Form provides assurance that all operations are conducted in accordance with the Diving at Work Regulations 1997 and the Port of Tyne Authority General Byelaws 1987.
